Our client has developed a game changing technology that could revolutionise the energy sector. The team has come up with a commercially viable and disruptive solution  for utility-scale energy storage, grid balancing, and carbon reuse.  The firm`s proprietary process converts low-cost and stranded electricity and carbon dioxide into pipeline-grade renewable gas for direct injection into the existing natural gas grid, a conversion process known as “power-to-gas”.   Based on this technology, the firm is now looking to expand globally and is this looking to recruit a Chief Operating Officer.

 

The Role  

This is a critical role as it provides the link between all parts of the business and is responsible for driving the firm`s transition from operating pilot projects to delivering real-life, commercially viable plants. The main tasks will include overseeing the firm`s design, engineering, project management and project execution activities including commissioning and services.       

 

The successful individual will combine strategic ansd operational leadership skills to drive cohesion across projects and geographies. Being a young and growing company, the COO will be the "go-to-person" when it comes to evaluating projects, overseeing corporate planing and internal knowledge development and management.  

 

The Person    

The position requires a self-starting, highly experienced individual with deep expertise in running a complex, innovation led organization at the cusp of exponential growth.

The successful candidate will also be a commercially astute project development expert who can balance the complexity of utility scale energy storage deals with running a scaling start-up operation.

 

In addition to deep technical expertise in executing large scale (energy) projects, the COO will also demonstrate commercial acumen and a global mindset.  This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to shape our future energy landscape and change the way we look at energy storage.
